Srixon Z 355 Golf Fairway Wood Review

The Srixon Z 355 fairway wood retails for $229,99 (MSRP) and it’s aimed at golf players seeking increased distance from a confidence inspiring piece of golf gear which will suit players of all skill levels. Needless to say, the Srixon Z 355 is built with the company’s proprietary Action Mass Technology, which consists of a heavier head weight and an excellently balanced shaft which work together for providing incredible amounts of forgiveness, consistency and distance. After taking the Srixon Z 355 for a drive test on the golf course, I can vouch for 2 main features: this baby is incredibly easy to hit and yes indeed, very consistent, shot after shot. The launching trajectory is not excessively high, quite the opposite actually, but the fairway produces a strong ball flight and, very important in my view, repeatable/predictable shots (in terms of distance).

Pairing the heavy head with the ideally balanced shaft (the Action Mass Technology thing) gives the Srixon Z 355 its consistency and distance. This approach is very effective in drivers and irons and it seems that the same idea applies to this fairway wood. At address, the Srixon Z 355 looks exactly like it’s supposed to: a game improvement fairway wood, with a shallow face and a relatively large footprint, being very confidence inspiring. There are no alignment aids on the glossy black crown and that will definitely appeal to better players. In terms of performance, the best word to describe the Srixon Z 355 is strong, boasting a hot-sound upon ball impact and delivering a minimal amount of feedback, except for mishits. The Srixon Z 355 launches the ball low with very little spin, it’s impressively consistent and bottom line, if you’re looking for a high-quality typical game improvement wood, this is definitely one you should try for your golf bag.
