Cobra KING LTD Driver Review

The Cobra KING LTD aka the Return of the King is a high end piece of golf gear, a premium driver which is supposedly the straightest and the longest so far in the company's portfolio. Obviously, the price is pretty hefty too, but that's hardly a surprise. Quality doesn't come cheap. Anyway, Cobra claims that with the KING LTD they've created their best driver yet.

I don't know if that's 100% accurate, however, judging from its looks, it was love at first sight! I mean, the King is arguably one of the best looking drivers I've ever encountered recently and the “coolness” or Wow!  factor is there too. Just let me mention the Spaceport located on the bottom, which lets you peek inside of the driver's head. I mean come on, I've never seen anything like that before. Looks aside, after playing a few rounds with this amazing driver, I was totally impressed.

The King is among the best sounding/feeling pieces of golf gear I've tried in the last couple of years, due to the combo between the Cobra speed channel, the titanium-made face and the carbon fiber crown. The driver sounds meaty, soft yet very solid upon ball impact and about the feel…well, it's difficult for me to describe it.

Buttery smooth, that's how a great forged iron really feels like, and I must confess that's the case with the King too.  The driver feels explosive and it's built like a tank, I mean it's as solid as it gets. The ball is basically jumping off of the driver's face, unlike any driver I've tested so far. Another key feature of the King is that, despite all these qualities, it feels like it has a very light head and if that's not your cup of tea, you may try a heavier shaft; problem solved! In terms of forgiveness levels, I can state without any doubt that the Cobra KING LTD is among the best on the market, meaning that it's uber-forgiving. Bottom line, this driver can be regarded as a turning point in the golf equipment industry, it's so good folks it's almost unbelievable.
