Beechwood Country Club

The true Diamond in the Rough. Beechwood Country Club is tucked just miles from the beach, and provides an amazing atmosphere for everyone. Recently renovated with Bermuda greens, and a boost to the layout of the course, Beechwood has transformed itself into a must-see.

The practice facilities at Beechwood received a nice face-lift during the renovations, and boast an immaculate putting green and driving range, which were actually added during the remodel. The course received a nice boost as well, with Bermuda greens throughout which as anyone from the Carolinas knows is a must in this day in age. The course layout is pretty straight forward, with this first two holes being straight-forward, allowing for a nice start to the day. The par 5 3rd hole is a bit tricky, and winds through the tree-lined fairways, but you have the possibility to navigate your way to a birdie. The next 4 hole stretch is quite simple, and the 4th hole is drive able for the long-ball golfers. Sitting at 323 yards, and as straight as an arrow, it allows for the daring to take flight. The rest of the front 9 is as advertised, straight and narrow, but scoring is always an option if you keep it in the fairway. The back 9 is quite a bit longer than the front, but boasts 3 par 5s that are reach-able in 2 shots, allowing for an adventurous nine holes of golf. There is quite a bit more water on the back nine, with ponds placed strategically throughout, providing a nice bit of defense. If you can keep the ball in the fairway, you will be rewarded.

The pricing at Beechwood is second to none, with an 18 hole round only costing you $30 during the weekend, which is why I have put this course as a must visit when passing through. It is tough to find a golf course that offers this strong of conditions for such a competitive rate.
