Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club Course Review

The Paa-Ko Ridge is an 18 hole regulation public golf course located in Sandia Park, New Mexico and it makes for a wonderful place, which mixes a spiritual experience, atmosphere and history into an unique package, as golfing in the state of New Mexico isnt just about golf, but more. The regions specific cultural flavor is everywhere, you dont have to look for it, and the golf course at the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is unique, wonderful and simply different, making for a once in a life time experience. The terrain upon which the golf course is built is terrific, and playing here youll be marveled by the melting pot of Mexican Americans, pueblo Indians and cowboys, as everywhere you turn, youll discover an almost surreal scene of high desert and epic alpine mountain ranges; the air is invigorating, clear and crisp and the sheer variety of the scenery is staggering in a multitude of ways.

Playing the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is nothing short of a spiritual-wow golfing experience, as the course can be best described as a classic in its infancy. The golf course was opened for players back in 2000, i.e. its relatively young and it was designed by architect Ken Dye. The course has plenty of dramatic holes and elevations as high as seven thousand feet, with its bluegrass fairways always in impeccable condition and the bent grass covered greens being top notch at all times. Despite the thin mountain air and the huge length of the golf course, the biggest challenge here is actually hitting the fairways, as the natural high desert landscape offers little forgiveness and any missed shot that goes astray is a problem for your score card. The greens are generous whilst bunkers are everywhere and the layout of the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is aimed at rewarding players with a solid short game. Bottom line, this baby will exceed your expectations almost surely, being a pleasure to play, while the design and routing are dramatic, making for the best public golf course in New Mexico and one of the best in the West.
