Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Golf Course Review

The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was first opened for players way back in 1928, being built on a magic location, with its golf courses sitting amidst a tropical and lush landscape along the Atlantic oceans beach. Even if this club may be overshadowed by its more illustrious neighbors, it will definitely worth your while and it deserves your attention if youre looking for a hidden gem that will provide you with a world class golfing experience. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is one of the nations classics and if youre a first time visitor, prepare to be charmed. Today, the golf courses (there are 2 of them) at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club are widely regarded as East Coasts golf capitals. The Lagoon course and the Ocean course can be described as two of a perfect pair and each of them feature a unique seaside links design and flavor.

Playing the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club youll be flabbergasted by the beautiful natural surroundings, as the golf courses are built upon meandering lagoons, crossing through undulating fairways and their elevated Bermuda grass green are beautifully and strategically protected by steep faced bunkers. Also, from time to time, youll notice that the prevailing sea breeze will put your game to the test, making for a challenging golfing experience regardless of your skill level. Playing the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club youll have to go through all the 14 clubs in your golf bag. The Ocean course was designed by the famous British architect Herbert Bertram in 1928 and it features 6811 yards of golf from its longest tees for a 72 par, making for the regions first golf resort experience. The Lagoon course features 6022 yards of golf from its longest tees for a 70 par and its a masterpiece of golf design, being co-authored by 2 of the best architects in the 20th century, Robert Trent Jones and Joe Lee. Both courses were restored recently by Bobby Weed, in 1998 and 2007 respectively.
