Cherry Hills Country Club Course Review

The Cherry Hills Country Clubwas founded way back in 1922 by a bunch of Denver Country Clubs prominent members. These folks were decided to build a golf club focused on the game itself and nothing else. The initial moniker of the Cherry Hills Country Club was just Cherry Hills Club, homage to a beautiful cherry orchard situated on the piece of real estate the Cherry Hills Country Club stands on. The course itself was masterfully designed by architect William S. Flynn, which was one of the best golf-course designers of his time. He was rewarded with $4500 for the job and even if today that doesnt sound like a lot, well, 100 years ago (give or take) it was a respectable sum. Throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, the Cherry Hills Country Club definitely stood the test of time, featuring a top notch layout and its still regarded as one the best and a true classic as far as golf courses in the US go. In its time, the Cherry Hills was described as playing in its own league sort to speak, with a few equals and no superior. Thats a bold statement by any metrics, but as far as I can tell, its absolutely true. Speaking of metrics, the Cherry Hills Country Club offers 7466 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71.

This golf course hosted numerous PGA championships, both for professionals and amateurs alike, including the 2005 Womens Open. The Cherry Hills Country Club offers its visitors an outstanding classic feel, being a very enjoyable place to take a good walk and play a great game of golf. The course offers a variety of holes dogleg and it really dances through the trees, having enough water to splash around but not too much to dominate the day. Also, the Cherry Hills Country Club is one of the toughest in golf, with the fairway slopes toward the lake, which is on the left side. I mean the course is really difficult and just watching it on TV doesnt do it justice at all. All you have to do is to stay out of thick, the rest is relatively straight forward.
